Our Approach

Medical professionals can find basic information here on our available ketamine treatments. Our treatments are only administered in a clinical setting under supervision from trained staff.
Details coming soon!

We at SnoMed K see ketamine IV therapy as an adjunct to other therapies for mental health conditions. We work closely with area therapists and/or psychiatrists to optimize the mental well-being of our patients. Our approach uses a low dose of ketamine through a series of intravenous (IV) infusions, resulting in treatment backed by research and consensus guidelines.

Patient Experience

At all of our clinics we do an initial consultation to review patient medications, previous medical history and psychiatric history to determine appropriateness for any ketamine treatment.

At this time we can address any questions or concerns that the patient may have. We may also request to do basic blood work or have them bring a copy of their most recent lab results to review.

Studies support the use of multiple infusions for the best results. While some patients may feel improvement in symptoms after only 1 infusion, for most the results are not instant. SnoMed K initial regimen includes 6 treatment sessions over a 2-3 week time span.

Typically after this initial set of treatments, patients will need booster sessions after a period of time. While everyone is different, It is important to remember that many mental health conditions are chronic, and as such ketamine is considered a treatment, not a cure.

We do not allow patients to drive home after their ketamine treatments. We also recommend against operating heavy machinery, working, making important decisions, caring for small children, or participating in strenuous activities for at least the rest of the day following your infusion.

We expect our staff to make sure patients are ready and safe after their infusions before leaving.

Ketamine is a dissociative drug and can cause patients to experience feelings of being “disconnected” or in a dream. Other common side effects include nausea, vomiting, heightened perceptions, fatigue afterwards and a rise in blood pressure and heart rate. These side effects usually disappear 20 minutes after completion of the infusion.
